WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), convened a labor roundtable in the Cannon House Office Building with leaders from major labor organizations to discuss the challenges facing American workers and unionized industries in the face of unfair Chinese trade practices.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), issued the following statement in response to the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) announcement of its intent to establish a so-called “national nature reserve” at Scarborough Shoal, a disputed maritime feature in the South China Sea:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), joined by Representatives Haley Stevens (MI-11) and Shontel Brown (OH-11), sent a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick urging decisive action to contain the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) unfair overproduction and export of goods.

WASHINGTON - Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sent a bipartisan investigatory letter to Futurewei Technologies demanding more information on its relationship with Huawei and its U.S. operations.

WASHINGTON — Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressing deep concern over reports that the Russian Federation has proposed sending military forces from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to Ukraine under the guise of a “peacekeeping force.” Reports also suggest that President Trump raised a similar idea in discussions with European leaders.

WASHINGTON – Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Congresswoman Jill Tokuda (D-HI) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth urging the Department of Defense (DOD) to leverage the purchasing power of its commissaries, base cafeterias, and logistics services to support U.S. allies and partners targeted by Beijing’s economic coercion.

WASHINGTON  — Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) called attention to an alarming cyber incident involving the electronic impersonation of Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) which news reports suggest was conducted by the PRC-affiliated hacking group known as APT41. He urgently seeks answers regarding which other Members of Congress have been impersonated by CCP hackers.
