WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sent a bipartisan letter to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick requesting a formal investigation into serious national security and privacy concerns related to OnePlus smartphones.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) convened a hearing titled, Algorithms and Authoritarians: Why U.S. AI Must Lead.

The hearing examined how the CCP leverages AI for surveillance, military modernization, and ideological control, and why U.S. leadership in AI is vital for national security and democratic values. 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party introduced the No Adversarial AI Act, bipartisan legislation to protect federal agencies from the risks posed by artificial intelligence technologies controlled by foreign adversaries, including the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

This legislation directs the National Security Agency (NSA) to develop an AI security playbook to defend American advanced technology against our foreign adversaries.

WASHINGTON, DC – Last night, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Congressman Ritchie Torres (D-NY) wrote to Acting Chairman Peter Feldman and Commissioner Douglas Dziak of the Consumer Product Safety Commission in response to them overturning a recent move to issue a proposed regulation establishing a federal safety standard for lithium-ion batteries in micro-mobility devices such as e-bikes, e-scooters and hoverboards.
