Statement from Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi on Inclusion of Autel on Commerce Department Entity List

June 21, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) issued the following statement regarding the inclusion of Autel on the Commerce Department’s Entity List.

“The Commerce Department and Secretary Raimondo should be commended for adding PRC-controlled drone maker Autel to its Entity List. Autel’s deep connections to the PLA poses a direct threat to U.S. national security with state and local governments purchasing and operating Autel drones. Furthermore, the U.S. should not be exporting technology to PRC entities like Autel that are actively contributing to Russia’s illegal and brutal invasion of Ukraine. While work remains to keep additional CCP-linked drones out of American skies in the future, this decision by the Commerce Department is a welcome one, and will help keep Americans safe and their data protected.”
