Statement from Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi on the First 100 Days of the Trump Administration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the CCP issued the following statement marking the first 100 days of the Trump Administration.

“After all its talk about ‘America First’, the Trump Administration’s first 100 days in office have only hurt America and helped our adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party—abandoning U.S. allies and partners, gutting foreign aid, and making America retreat from the global stage. Its erratic tariff strategy has already inflicted more damage on American workers and consumers than it has leveled the economic playing field with China. Its decision to eliminate tools used to advance American foreign policy—from diplomacy to development—has handed Beijing an easy opportunity to expand its authoritarian influence unchecked. In the next 100 days and beyond, I hope to see the Trump Administration reverse course and double down on American leadership across the globe, invest in our own people, and do the work needed to strengthen global alliances.”
