Statement from Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi on Chinese Collision with Philippine Vessels

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), issued the following statement on the People's Republic of China’s ramming of two Philippine ships in the South China Sea on Sunday.

“The People’s Republic of China’s ramming of two Philippine ships in the South China Sea yesterday is dangerous and unacceptable. Obstructing the Philippines from lawfully sailing in its exclusive economic zone violates international law and endangers an American treaty ally. The international community must denounce these provocative actions and make clear that the PRC’s bullying tactics will only make us more resolute in the face of its aggressive behavior.”
