Statement from Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi and House Democratic Caucus Vice Chair Lieu on Latest TikTok Developments
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the U.S. and the CCP, and Congressman Ted Lieu (D-CA), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement regarding recent developments concerning the TikTok Divestiture Law.
“Countless bidders are lining up to purchase TikTok. But the White House simply isn’t putting in the work to get a lawful deal across the finish line. As the White House spends all its time on tariffs that are not only devastating our economy, but are now also harming our national security, they are leaving real bidders who can sever the app’s ties to China out in the cold. No more excuses; it’s time to do the work, comply with the law, and save TikTok.”
