January 15, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party issued the following statement following passage of the U.S.-Taiwan Expedited Double-Tax Relief Act.

“Thanks to the leadership of Ranking Member Richard Neal of the Ways and Means Committee, the House of Representatives passed legislation to resolve the U.S.-Taiwan double taxation issue,” said Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi. “This legislation spurs economic development, encourages investment in critical sectors, and strengthens U.S.-Taiwan ties, not only for the benefit of U.S. businesses and jobs but also for our strategic competition with the Chinese Communist Party. I applaud the passage of this legislation, and I look forward to its successful passage in the Senate so that it can be signed into law.”
