Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi Statement On The Upcoming Resignation Of Chairman Gallagher Of The Select Committee On The Strategic Competition Between The U.S. And The Chinese Communist Party

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) issued the following statement in response to the announcement of Chairman Mike Gallagher’s resignation from Congress, effective April 19, 2024:

 "Though I was disappointed to learn of Chairman Mike Gallagher’s upcoming retirement from Congress, I’m grateful for his service to our country and the bipartisan work we accomplished thus far together on the Select Committee to address the United States’ strategic competition with the Chinese Communist Party. I will miss Mike as a friend and a partner and remain committed to the work of advancing American competitiveness, conducting investigations to promote our values, and defending human rights.”
