Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi On The Retirement Of Chairman Gallagher Of The Select Committee On The Strategic Competition Between The U.S. And The Chinese Communist Party
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) issued the following statement on Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) announcing his retirement from Congress at the end of the current term:
“While I was surprised to learn of Chairman Mike Gallagher’s decision to not run for re-election, I strongly commend his longstanding service to our country both in Congress and as a Marine. Mike and I came into Congress together, and we've managed to forge a friendship and partnership in a town where unfortunately such relationships seem less common each day. With the remaining time that we have before Mike’s retirement, I look forward to continuing our bipartisan work on the Select Committee to advance the United States’ strategic competition with the Chinese Communist Party.”
