Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi Responds To Reports of Shein's IPO Filing Amid Ongoing Committee Investigation

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, issued the following statement in response to reports that Shein has filed for a U.S. initial public offering while under congressional investigation:

“The Select Committee’s bipartisan investigation is ongoing, but some of Shein’s public assertions about its supply chains raise serious questions and demand rigorous scrutiny. Hopefully, investors will also scrutinize Shein’s operations, just as the Select Committee is continuing to do.  Defending human rights and preventing forced labor must always be a top priority, especially when American capital and consumers are involved.”
