Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi Issues Statement on New PRC-Based Companies Added on the UFLPA Entity List
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) added 29 entities to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List, marking another major step by the Biden administration to combat forced labor worldwide in the People's Republic of China. This action brings the total number of listed entities to 107. The additions were approved by the interagency Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF), chaired by DHS, and underscores U.S. leadership in a strong commitment to eradicating forced labor from global supply chains.
"The Department of Homeland Security’s decision to add 29 PRC-based entities to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List is a significant milestone and reinforces DHS's commitment to stronger UFLPA enforcement," said Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi. “Our Select Committee has made cracking down on forced labor a top priority, and I’m grateful to Secretary Mayorkas for continuing to lead on advancing this critical effort. Blocking imports tied to forced labor not only safeguards global supply chains but also upholds the fundamental dignity of every human being."
