Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi Hosts Roundtable with Labor Leaders to Discuss the Challenges Posed To American Workers by the Chinese Communist Party
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) met with David McCall, the President of the United Steelworkers, and other senior-level officials in the labor movement to discuss how unfair trade and labor practices by the CCP are seriously harming American workers and U.S. manufacturing capacity as well as our domestic supply chains. The participants also discussed the Committee’s ongoing work to combine trade enforcement measures with domestic investments like the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act to rebuild U.S manufacturing and create good-paying American jobs for the 21st century economy.
