MEDIA ADVISORY: Krishnamoorthi to Preview Perils of Trump-Xi Meeting at Atlantic Council Event
WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, October 29, at 1:30 ET, the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and Global China Hub will host a conversation with Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.
The discussion comes just ahead of the highly anticipated meeting between President Donald Trump and CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping – the first encounter between the two leaders in the second Trump administration – and takes place amid escalating tensions over tariffs, technology access, and global influence, as the United States and China navigate an increasingly competitive geopolitical landscape.
Krishnamoorthi will share his insights on the trajectory of the U.S.-China relationship, the perils and opportunities of the Trump-Xi summit, and his vision for a new strategy to ensure the United States wins the long-term competition with the CCP.
