Krishnamoorthi, Moolenaar Issue Joint Statement on $5,000,000 Appropriated to Support the Multilateral Action on Sensitive Technologies Forum
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party issued the following statement on the $5,000,000 the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs (SFOPS) appropriated to support the Multilateral Action on Sensitive Technologies (MAST) forum, which will help the State Department fulfill its policy objectives in coordinating a fifth multilateral export control regime with allies and partners to prevent the flow of critical technologies to foreign adversary nations.
“Supporting the MAST forum will help counter the CCP’s ambitions in science and technology and boost coordination among our partners and allies in areas like export controls, outbound investment, and sensitive technology proliferation,” said Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi. “I’m pleased to see this recommendation from our Select Committee adopted, and look forward to working with my colleagues to address advances in critical technologies like AI, biotechnology, and semiconductors in the future.”
